Spiders are generally known to be rather unpopular animals with very few fans among human beings. Taking that into account, many people like to know their options when it comes to dealing with them. Many use store products, which, although effective, can seriously harm both people and the environment. Luckily, there are perfectly safe, natural ways to get rid of spiders and here are some of them:
Make your own spider repellent spray
Mix some water with apple vinegar and some essential oil, pour into a spray bottle and you are ready to go spider-hunting. Just make sure not to spill it onto carpets.
1-quart of water
3 drops of peppermint essential oil
3 drops of lavender essential oil
1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
Cut the peel off an orange into quarter-inch chunks. Place the chunks into a pot with boiling water (one cup), and let it all soak during the night. Add some witch hazel to the water in the morning, pour into a spray bottle and shake before using.
Combine two tablespoons of turmeric powder with water, apply the paste to cotton balls and put them in the places that are problematic, when it comes to spiders. Just don’t apply the paste directly on furniture since it stains easily.
Slice onions, put them in a bowl of water and place whenever you feel you should.
Cats are a perfect solution for spiders, being great hunters. If you have been pondering about a pet, this is a good choice.
If you have a lot of sun in your home, you might consider getting an eucalyptus plant. It is beautiful and the spiders hate the smell.
Spread the smell of cinnamon around your house and the spiders won’t come near it.
Cleaning your home on a regular basis is a great way to keep the spiders away. Also, don’t forget to throw out your trash.
We hope our advice will help you chase away the unwanted, hairy guests.
