People often buy different air fresheners to better the smell of the air in their homes. They come in various forms, from aerosol containers to scented cubes. However, they can contain carcinogens which are released into the air and harm the reproductive health and worsen asthma symptoms. Therefore, opt for less harmful air fresheners, for example, make your own with refined vinegar and several drops of your favorite essential oils. Transfer the mixture into a spray bottle and shake it well before every use.
In a lot of households, scented candles are very common, whether they are placed in the bathroom or in the bedroom. But, the issue with these candles is the presence of carcinogens and toxins. To check if the wick is made of lead, which is banned, take a piece of paper and wipe the wick with it. If there is no line on the paper, this means that the wick is lead-free. If the opposite is the case, you should get rid of that candle.
The chemicals used for dry cleaning contain carcinogens which may enter the body through the skin when you put on your freshly dry cleaned clothes. To be on the safe side, make sure that your dry cleaner uses safe ingredients for the process of cleaning.

These products are not good for both humans and animals. Namely a lot of flea control products are known to contain unwanted ingredients that can harm pets, but you and your closest ones as well.
Triclosan, which is banned in the EU, is one of the main ingredients in numerous cosmetic products that are usually advertised as antibacterial and safe for use. However, this is not entirely true because there are suspicious chemicals present in such products. A better option would be organic soaps and organic cosmetics.
Products for carpet cleaning contain heavy and dangerous chemicals as they are created with the aim to eliminate stubborn carpet stains. Unfortunately, inhaling or ingesting even small amounts of the chemicals found in these products can cause serious health problems like lung cancer. You should instead opt for safer methods like sprinkling the dirty carpets with baking soda and then cleaning them with a blend of water and vinegar or steam clean them.
Most shower curtains that we have in our homes are made of plastic and may contain PVC. PVC is bad for the environment because it emits carcinogenic compounds. This can happen while you are taking a hot shower and cause respiratory and reproductive issues. A smarter solution is to choose natural cotton shower curtains.
